How do you influence for a quality culture?
Obviously, that depends on where you are in the company and what you do.
Though, as I have said in previous posts, everyone can be a leader in their current role - excellence is not reserved for managers and senior leaders.
Let's talk about influencing others through a vision (or strategy)... Do you have a vision? Have you communicated it? Have you documented it? Do you send the same, consistent message all the time? Do your decisions match your vision?
Do you cascade the strategy behind the vision to all elements of the company/team? Do you set metrics and milestones based on the vision and strategy to 'get there'? Do you celebrate wins and work through set backs?
"But I'm just a cog in a big wheel, not the CEO." Ok, well, what's the CEO's vision? Do what you can to make sure what you do aligns with it. Do you send the right message back up the chain? Or are you a noisy cog?
Everyone can be a leader in their role, it doesn't have to be in your job title. Do what you can, with excellence!
