Antecedents only influence about 20% of human behavior. Whereas consequences influence up to 80% of behavior. And we know that influencing behaviour is a big deal to boosting quality culture. Let's look at an example... In the company, 'Super Pharma', leaders have noticed that quality has slipped over the last 6 months. The first thing they do, is send out memos and hold refresher training. Very knee-jerk reaction.

And not really going to influence how people do their jobs. More like white noise in the background. These types of actions are π˜Όπ™£π™©π™šπ™˜π™šπ™™π™šπ™£π™©π™¨. But the leaders wanted to fix the problem, and they implemented a staff recognition system and continuous improvement system that includes staff feedback and open dialogue.
